Our Mission
Coral Futures Research & Innovation Centre exists to protect and restore coral reef ecosystems through science-led research, responsible innovation and public engagement.
We work to bridge the gap between coral science and real-world action — developing practical, ethical and scalable solutions that support reef recovery while empowering communities and inspiring global stewardship.
Our mission is not only to grow coral, but to ensure that restoration efforts are effective, transparent and built to last.
Coral reefs are disappearing faster than ever before, but meaningful recovery is still possible if we act responsibly and decisively. At Coral Futures, our focus is on building the science, systems and partnerships needed to turn innovation into real, lasting impact for reefs and the communities that depend on them

Founder, CEOOur Vision
We envision a future where coral reefs are no longer in decline, but actively recovering — supporting marine biodiversity, coastal communities and the health of our oceans.
In this future, coral restoration is guided by evidence, collaboration and long-term thinking, and people everywhere have a meaningful role to play in protecting these vital ecosystems for generations to come.
Our Values
Scientific integrity
Transparency and accountability
Collaboration and inclusion
Long-term impact over short-term solutions
What Make Us Different
Science-Led from the Start
Every decision we make is guided by research, evidence and best practice. We build coral restoration on strong scientific foundations — not shortcuts or guesswork.
Ethical & Transparent by Design
We believe trust matters. From how funds are used to how progress is reported, supporters can see exactly what their contribution is helping to achieve.
Built to Scale, Not Just Symbolise
Our systems are designed to grow — from small research setups to larger restoration programmes — ensuring today’s work enables tomorrow’s impact.
Connecting People to Real Solutions
We turn concern into action by giving the public, partners and communities a meaningful way to support coral recovery that delivers measurable results.

Scientific Advisory Board
To ensure our work is credible, ethical, and evidence-led, Coral Futures Research & Innovation Centre is establishing an independent Scientific Advisory Board.
The Board will provide expert guidance on our research priorities, coral aquaculture methods, monitoring and evaluation, and emerging technologies—helping us translate science into practical, scalable solutions for coral conservation.
Bringing together specialists in coral biology, restoration, aquaculture, climate resilience, and environmental risk, the Board will:
strengthen the scientific quality of our programmes
support responsible innovation and best practice
provide independent challenge and oversight
enhance transparency, credibility, and impact
The Scientific Advisory Board is advisory in nature and operates independently from our Trustees, supporting strong governance and informed decision-making as we grow.
We are currently inviting expressions of interest from researchers and practitioners who wish to contribute to this mission.
